A NOZZEL RING IS A CRITICAL COMPONENT OF A TURBOCHARGER, SPECIFICALLY IN VARIABLE NOZZEL TURBOCHARGERS (VNTs), OR VARIABLE GEOMETRY TURBOCHARGERS (VGTs).
FUNCTION: DIRECTS EXHAUST GASES AND CONTROLS BOOST PRESSURE.

FUNCTION:
- DIRECTS EXHAUST GASES: THE NOZZEL RING DIRECTS EXHAUST GASES ONTO THE TURBINE WHEEL, CONTROLLING THE AMOUNT OF ENERGY TRANSFERRED TO THE TURBINE.
- CONTROLS BOOST PRESSURE: BY ADJUSTING THE NOZZEL RING’S POSITION, THE TURBOCHARGER’S BOOST PRESSURE IS CONTROLLED, ALLOWING FOR OPTIMAL ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
DESIGN:
- VARIABLE VANES: THE NOZZEL RING FEATURES VARIABLE VANES THAT CAN BE ADJUSTED TO CHANGE THE FLOW OF EXHAUST GASES INTO THE TURBINE WHEEL.
- ACTUATOR CONTROL: THE NOZZEL RING IS TYPICALLY CONTROLLED BY AN ACTUATOR, WHICH ADJUSTS THE VANE POSITION BASED ON ENGINE OPOERATING CONDITIONS.
